I'm pretty sure that if it wasn't for autoclickers, there wouldn't be anywhere near the market for booze as there is now.

If Anet really gave a s*** about people doing it the "noble" way they would have just made a 5 minute effect icon that works similar to grog that updates when when you drink more alcahol instead of having to bother with post processing or the hero panel garbage.

I assume the "Hero panel garbage" is keeping your hero panel open so you can watch the drunkard title progression as you drink, counting off the minutes so you know when to drink next...

Yep, minimise the hero panel so you can only see the drunkard title, it's smaller than the compass that way. The only thing is that you have to rescroll to the drunkard title every time you zone.

I don't know of anyone getting banned for using an autoclicker for drunkard. Anet doesn't even to care about bots anymore, look at Bergen and JQ. I doubt they will mess with a drunkard bot, they don't do any harm. They actually take money out of the economy.

As a player who got the last 9600 minutes whilst at work, all I have to say is "Thank you, Macro Express"

logic=fail on your part.

same as zkeys, its just transferring gold to other players, not taking it out of economy. Unless you actually buy booze from a merch, then you would just be dumb for spending a ton of money on rice wine.

You drink them then they are gone = cannot be resold for profit = gone from the game economy = unlike minipets, ectos (96% of ecto anyways)

Basic keyboard macros are not and have never been banned by Anet.

In fact Anet gave away a programmable Logitec G15 gaming keyboard in a competition.

The assumption that people can be banned for using an autoclicker is that they're doing it while AFK. Well what if someone sits at their computer while watching the autoclicker do the work? Does that count as cheating?

Just because a Keyboard they gave away in a competition is capable of complex macros, doesn't mean that ArenaNet have in any way permitted the use of such macros, other that as stated by the EULA.

Oh, and for the issue of using a macro to bot drunkard... Gaile said it's an actionable offense, like other forms of botting. While I doubt they'd be throwing permabans at first time offenders, I suspect temp bans and account marks would be in order.

You ask if someone could be banned for the use of such a program. The answer is yes. That person could be actioned. The Drunkard bot is not as pernicious a botting for gold, but it's still a block-able offense. How you handle that on a guild level is entirely up to you. There's no guarantee that the person will be caught and punished. I would even go so far as to say that it is not a high priority to catch such a person. However, there's no guarantee that he will not be banned, and should a ban be put in place, there would be no legitimate appeal that would override it.

You're misquoting.

Anet have banned bots but a keyboard macro that simply replicates keyclicks is not a bot. Anet have stated previously that use of keyboard macros to replicate keyclick sequences is not considered botting and is not a ban-able offence.

And many, many people pointed out to Anet that they were/did give away a G15 and this discussion was held many, many times.

Do really imagine that over the course of 4+ years that keyboard macros haven't been discussed?

How am I misquoting? The original question was about auto clickers... I linked to THE ENTIRE DISCUSSION and quoted the portion of Gaile's reply to the question, ignoring the waffle about titles being rebalanced...

The person asked about autoclickers, Gaile replied...

Show what I misquoted? Or better yet, show me ANY quote from Gaile's response which in anyway changes the context of autoclicking through drunkard?

Or did you somehow MISS THE TITLE OF THIS THREAD?

You want to tell me that ArenaNet have never banned for a keyboard macro?
